When you place your order for a Byqee, you choose the wheel size. Since 99% of bicycles between 24-28" have a fork width of 100mm, this fork width is applied as standard on the order screen for these wheel sizes.
For 20" wheels, especially on folding bikes, the fork size varies between 74mm and 100mm. Bicycles with a 16" wheel, like Brompton, have a fork width of 74mm. Especially for 20" wheeled bicycles, selecting the correct fork width is critical to determining the suitable Byqee for your bike.
So, what is this fork width, and how is it measured?
The bicycle part named "fork" connects your front wheel to the bike frame, usually with a bolt-nut connection, allowing the front wheel to move with your bike.
The measurements of 74-100mm are obtained by measuring the innermost point of the fork from inside to inside.
You can also measure the fork size without removing your wheel by holding a tape measure to the hub part. You can overlook millimetric margin of errors when placing an order. For instance, if the inner measurement appears to be around 10cm when you hold the tape measure, your fork size is 100mm. If you see a value around 7-8cm on the tape measure you are holding, you can consider your fork width to be 74mm.
